“Slugging”, a popular skincare hack returned in 2021 and 2022 and this masque was the perfect upgrade for slugging’s normal k-beauty occlusive suggestion, petroleum jelly. Many influencers touted Vaseline and Aquaphor as the perfect occlusive for this skincare hack. The problem with both of those products is beyond being an occlusive, they have no skin health benefits such as peptides, vitamins, minerals and more. It should further be noted that Vaseline is 100% petroleum jelly and is completely occlusive while Aquaphor is only 41% occlusive as it has many more filler ingredients. What is occlusive anyway? It’s just a skincare term for products that make a physical barrier to help keep skin moist and hydrated. As an Aethetician though, I am always looking for ways to improve skincare for my clients, and with Lira Clinical’s Pro Brightening Masque, skincare slugging will never be the same.
