Treating Perimenopausal and Menopausal Skin
There is a reason why women refer to this time as “The Change”. For most, hormone levels fluctuate during perimenopause. During this time, estrogen levels can be 20-30% higher but then become more irregular and drop as time passes and the body enters into menopause. During this time, the skin changes too.
When I have a client in perimenopause or menopause, I advise them that homecare is critical. We focus on Rebuilding the Skin, Rehydrating the Skin and Regeneration of the Skin. Just that simple. There are many ways to do this and not every client is going to be a candidate for some therapies. The trick to “Pro-Aging” is finding ingredients that work in synergy for homecare, a little bit of science and consistency.

Physician Approved Strategies
It may be that a client is looking for accelerated results in a short time frame. Dermatologists have a few medical based treatments that could help.

Prescription Tretinoin- increases cell turnover and helps with stimulation of collagen
BBL Treatments
Another small 2019 studyTrusted Source found that three BBL treatment settings were effective in tightening skin. All three techniques showed improvements in zygomatic (cheekbone) wrinkles, nasolabial folds, and marionette lines.
